Course Description

Presenter: Abigail Gadate, Workplace Relations Advisor, Wentworth Advantage

Good HR practices cover a number of employment and business functions with employment contracts filling one of these requirements.

The employment relationship begins with the intention of both the employer and the employee who enter into a contract of employment under which they have certain mutual obligations voluntarily accepted by both parties, which is best established in a written contract.

A written employment contract generally acts to formally document the terms and conditions of employment between the employer and employee which includes wages, hours and type of work, employment status and start date as well as many other employment terms and conditions.

This presentation will provide an overview of the purpose of an employment contract and its relationship with other industrial instruments and legislative requirements.
