Course Description

Presenter: Katia Schlebusch D.O.

General Osteopathic Treatment
Nature is at the same time very simple and yet on closer examination very complex. The same is valid for the General Osteopathic Treatment. At first sight, it might appear as a very simple routine of articulations, yet when they are applied with ease, with the right pressure and leverage, it becomes a powerful tool that can enable the body to heal itself. As AT Still said: Find it, fix and leave it alone.

Over the last 26 years that I have been in practise, the GOT has been an extremely valuable tool. On a daily basis, it helps me to establish a diagnosis. Patients learn to consciously relax while they allow themselves to be moved by somebody else. The rhythm of the movements themselves also adds to the therapeutic effect of the GOT. As each part of the body is moved in a similar rhythm, it helps re-establish a sense of unity at the level of the nervous system. Hence it starts creating lasting change.

About the presenter

Since then Katia has worked in England, Austria and Oman. She then moved to the Central Coast in 2002, where she has been practising in a multi-disciplinary medical centre in Wyoming called, Invitation to Health, ( As well as having her own practise at home. Katia sees patients of all ages. She is particularly passionate about treating pregnant women, newborn babies and their mothers. The other area of great interest to Katia is Trauma of all kinds, it’s effect on the nervous system and how to help the body integrate it’s memory.
