Consultation for National Code for all Practitioners of Non-Regulated Heath Services

14 April 2014

On Wednesday 9 April Osteopathy Australia policy advisor Samuel Dettmann attended a consultation on a proposed national code of conduct for health care workers. Health ministers nationwide are proposing a national code for all practitioners of non-regulated health services. Osteopathy Australia has real concerns because the code applies also to regulated health practitioners providing services that are unrelated to their registration. The consultation was a valuable opportunity to present our concerns and suggest major improvements to the framework and how it would work alongside the current AHPRA system. We will make a formal submission later this month.
