Position Statement on supporting osteopaths and business owners to receive financial support for asset write-offs, business and other incentives

This statement supports business owners, especially small business owners, to receive financial support for asset write-offs in relation to their business.

What is Osteopathy Australia advocating for?

Fair and equitable access to financial subsidies and support for osteopaths in relation to their business for asset write-offs and other incentives.

Why this benefits Australians

· A reduction in the cost on small businesses to operate, allowing them to continue to provide healthcare.

· Flow on effects to health consumers leading to more accessible and affordable care.

Policy issues and barriers

The rising cost of living and burden on small businesses needs to be recognised and government support should be provided through GST exemptions, tax deduction flexibility, asset write-offs, grant schemes or other programs that should be considered throughout 2026 and into 2027.
