Early Career membership

To be eligible to apply for the Early Career membership categories, you are a recently graduated osteopath, up to five years after completing your osteopathy course, registered or currently applying for your AHPRA registration.

The year you completed your osteopathy course will determine your Early Career category. Please see conditions below.

Eligibility to apply for Early Career membership categories, Year 1 to Year 5:

• Early Career Member, Year 1 membership = completed course in 2025
  (1 July to 30 June - first 12-month membership cycle, or part thereof, following course completion)
• Early Career Member, Year 2 membership = completed course in 2024
  (1 July to 30 June – second 12-month membership cycle, or part thereof, following course completion)
• Early Career Member, Year 3 membership = completed course in 2023
  (1 July to 30 June – third 12-month membership cycle, or part thereof, following course completion)
• Early Career Member, Year 4 membership = completed course in 2022
  (1 July to 30 June – fourth 12-month membership cycle, or part thereof, following course completion)
• Early Career Member, Year 5 membership = completed course in 2021
  (1 July to 30 June – fifth 12-month membership cycle, or part thereof, following course completion)

Conditions

• Currently qualified as an osteopath and registered or applying for registration in Australia
• Current and sufficient Professional Indemnity Insurance
• Committed to the principles of Continuing Professional Development
• Completion of annual Continuing Professional Development requirements
• $165 join fee applies to a new or re-joining member application.
• Osteopathy Australia membership can be cancelled during a membership cycle, but no refunds are provided
• On application for membership with Osteopathy Australia, you:
  - Declare all information submitted to be true and correct
  - Accept that membership does not imply a right to practise in Australia

Further conditions of Early Career Member, Year 1 membership eligibility

• You must be within your first full 12-month membership cycle (or part thereof) after completing an accredited Australian osteopathic degree
• To qualify, you must join as an Early Career Member, Year 1 no later than 30 June of the current membership cycle
  Please note: Final-year graduates completing studies and joining in June (last month of the membership cycle): your Early Career Year 1 membership cycle begins on 1 July, the first month of the next membership cyle
• If you were an Osteopathy Australia final-year Student member:
  You may join at the advertised special flat-rate offer between 1 June and 31 December of your final year
• If the special offer period has passed (and you have not yet joined), or if you were not a Student member in your final year, a $165 join fee plus pro-rata membership fee will apply from the following January to June

• You are in the second full 12-month membership cycle (or part thereof) following completion of a relevant Australian osteopathic degree (after initial Early Career Member, Year 1membership, if applicable)

• You are in the third full 12-month membership cycle (or part thereof) following completion of a relevant Australian osteopathic degree (after the Early Career Member, Year 2 membership cycle, if applicable)

Further conditions of Early Career Member, Year 4 membership eligibility

• You are in the fourth full 12-month membership cycle (or part thereof) following completion of a relevant Australian osteopathic degree (after the Early Career Member, Year 3 membership cycle, if applicable)

Further conditions of Early Career Member, Year 5 membership eligibility

• You are in the fifth full 12-month membership cycle (or part thereof) following completion of a relevant Australian osteopathic degree (after the Early Career Member, Year 4 membership cycle, if applicable)
