All osteopaths would understand that maintaining clinical records and obtaining informed consent are processes which they must adhere to. Yet, Guild Insurance’s claims management experience continues to show that many osteopaths don’t undertake these processes to the level which is required. What’s often not understood, is how poor record-keeping and informed consent can contribute to patients complaining, and create challenges defending these complaints, creating unnecessarily stressful situations for an osteopath. Too often osteopaths don’t realise their processes are below standard until a complaint is made against them. This session will help participants proactively assess their processes before a complaint is received.
