Call for abstracts

Submissions for abstracts have now closed.

In the lead up to the 2024 Osteopathy Conference, we are pleased to accept abstracts across the diversity of osteopathic practice in areas including, but not limited to, paediatrics, sport, women’s health, exercise rehabilitation and aged care.

We are encouraging submissions from the following:

  • Academics (including PhD students)
  • Clinicians
  • Researchers
  • Government agencies in the health and regulatory sector
  • Corporate groups with an interest in healthcare or wellbeing

Presentation types include:

  • Workshops and practical activities
  • Demonstrations
  • Discussion/Forum
  • Lectures
  • Research presentation

Presentation duration times include:

  • 15 minutes
  • 30 minutes
  • 60 minutes
  • 90 minutes

Terms and guidelines for abstract submissions:

  1. All fields marked with an asterisk must be completed.
  2. The presenter and the author must be the same person.
  3. The author is responsible for the accuracy of the abstract.
  4. Clinical practice abstracts must have action/implementation guidelines for clinical ideas/methods.
  5. The Speaking Engagement Agreement forms part of the conditions that selected presenters are bound by.
  6. Organisers will provide speakers with free registration only for the day the speakers are scheduled to speak.
  7. The acceptance of an abstract does not imply the provision of travel, accommodation, or registration for the conference, nor any costs associated with attendance at the conference.
  8. You must email a copy of your presentation, which may be distributed to conference attendees, to cpd@osteopathy.org.au at least 14 days prior to 25 October 2024.   
  9. All commercial interests or associations an author may have that may pose a conflict of interest must be declared. If accepted for presentation, the commercial interest or association must be declared on the title slide or the slide immediately following the title slide.
  10. You agree to have your presentation photographed and/or filmed.
  11. You confirm that all authors have approved the submission.
  12. All submissions must be original material.
  13. The author/s agree to materially confine their presentations to information in the proposal submission if accepted. If the author/s have more than one abstract accepted, each presentation will be materially confined to the information in the abstract selected for the specific session.
  14. The abstracts will be blind reviewed by the Conference Committee and assessed on the scientific merit and professional relevance provided in the submission. If there is insufficient detail or clarity in the abstract, it will be rejected.
  15. The Committee’s decision is final.
  16. Authors who make a presentation that contains material that was not included in the accepted abstract submission will be omitted from the Conference program for a period of three years henceforth.
  17. Abstract submissions received outside of the provided submission link will not be considered. 

Submissions close at 5:00 pm on Friday, 12 April 2024; however, early submission is encouraged.
